Why Visit

Florence Falls, Litchfield National Park

Florence Falls is one of the most iconic spots in Litchfield National Park, and for good reason. The twin waterfalls cascade into a deep, crystal-clear plunge pool, surrounded by lush monsoon forest — a striking contrast to the dry sandstone escarpment above.

It’s also one of the most visited attractions in the park, drawing over 240,000 visitors each year. Despite its popularity, it still feels like a true Top End experience, especially if you arrive early in the morning or later in the afternoon.

Whether you’re here for a quick swim, a short walk, or a full day exploring nearby sites, Florence Falls is an easy and rewarding stop that delivers every time.

Florence Falls Walks & Access

Getting to Florence Falls is straightforward with well-maintained paths and clearly marked tracks suitable for most visitors. A sealed access road leads directly to a well-equipped car park with toilets, picnic areas, and clear signage — suitable for 2WDs, campervans, and caravans.

From the car park, a short flat path takes you to the main lookout, the most accessible part of the site. For swimming, continue down the staircase or take the longer scenic Shady Creek loop.
